I saw these paintings when I first traveled to Erbil back in 2015. However, those walls belonged to a Government building and, after taking the photo, some soldiers came from across the street and were actually quite upset. It was not a big deal anyways but, when I came back in 2018, the murals were gone.
The exchange offices in Erbil are street stalls with no security, where the locals have huge bundles ofwel money on the counter, without a window, without surveillance and in the middle of the street.
The best thing to do in Erbil kan zijn Best Kurd visiting its main square, a lively place that is miles away from the stereotype you may have of Iraq.
